Frequently Asked Questions
How deep can it go?+
The Salted Line housing is rated for depths of up to 40 meters (130 feet), ensuring reliable underwater performance.
Acrylic or glass dome port — which should I choose?+
Acrylic ports deliver solid image quality in most scenarios, and they have the advantages of being lighter, more affordable, and easier to repair. Glass dome ports, while offering slightly superior image quality in specific conditions and better scratch resistance, cannot be repaired if scratched.
6" or 8" dome — which size is right for me?+
The 6" domes deliver excellent image quality in most shooting conditions while being significantly more compact and travel-friendly, making them the preferred choice for many users. While 8" domes can offer slightly improved edge sharpness, their larger size makes them bulkier and less convenient to transport.
What is Surf Edition?+
Dome Ports include a lens shade that protects them from accidental contact with objects during use and offers benefits in some shooting conditions. The Surf Edition Dome Ports are designed without a lens shade to minimize drag when shooting in large waves.
What dome and flat ports are compatible?+
The housing uses a 90mm bayonet mount, compatible with all Salted Line / Sea Frogs dome and flat ports for that bayonet size.
Does it include a port?+
No port is included. Ports are sold separately.
What O-rings and maintenance is required?+
Inspect and lubricate the O-ring before every dive. Replace O-rings at least once per year or every 50 dives. Use only Salted Line / Sea Frogs silicone grease — third-party greases may cause leaks.
Does the detachable grip come with the housing?+
No — the detachable shutter grip with two-stage trigger is sold separately.
Does it support an external monitor or HDMI?+
Yes. The A6700 housing includes an integrated M33 threaded bulkhead interface, compatible with standard underwater HDMI cables.
Does it have a vacuum leak check system?+
Yes. The housing includes a built-in Vacuum Check System port and inbuilt leak detection sensor for added safety.
