While the Salted Line shutter grip is best known for still photography in powerful surf and big-wave conditions, it can also be used to start and stop video recording on supported Sony cameras.
Certain Sony models allow video recording to be triggered directly from the shutter button when the “Rec w/ Shutter” option is enabled in the camera menu (please refer to your camera manual). This includes cameras such as:

•⁠  ⁠Sony A7S III
•⁠  ⁠Sony A7 IV
•⁠  ⁠Sony A7R V
•⁠  ⁠Sony A7 V
•⁠  ⁠Sony A6700

When enabled, video recording can be controlled directly from the shutter grip, allowing you to maintain a firm, natural hold on the housing at all times.
